The key role of the Equity Section is as a cultural change agent, helping QUT to develop an organisational culture that values diversity and equal opportunity. In effect this involves the creation of an environment which is supportive of the social and cultural diversity of students and staff in our University community, and an environment which is free from all forms of discrimination and harassment.
The Equity Section provides a range of programs and services aimed at equal opportunity for all staff and students. For staff working at QUT, this includes the development and implementation of strategies to improve employment prospects, remuneration and career development for equity target groups.
