QUT offers research degrees at the masters and doctoral level. Research masters usually take one to two years full-time to complete, while completing a PhD or Doctor of Philosophy program takes three to four years full-time.

This section answers prospective and existing QUT research degree candidates' questions about applying and enrolling as a research student at QUT. We also provide PhD administration data such as the schedule for submitting proposals and forms, information about supervision, intellectual property and commercialisation, research degrees committees, candidature reporting, confirmation and doctor of philosophy regulations.

The University publishes nine Faculty Postgraduate Prospectuses containing comprehensive course information for prospective students, including career opportunities, professional recognition, entry requirements, fees, course structures and subject synopses.
