The Queensland University of Technology (QUT) recently celebrated a major milestone with its 10th annual STEMFest, an event that continues to ignite curiosity and inspire young minds across the Northern region.
This year’s STEMFest gathered Year 5 to 10 students from local schools to participate in an enriching, hands-on experience that showcased the best of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) education.
Supported by QUT Student Inclusion ambassadors, students engaged in interactive workshops and embarked on six-week projects that allowed them to explore STEM disciplines in depth. Culminating in an evening showcase event, STEMFest was a testament to QUT's commitment to educational inclusivity and fostering a passion for STEM among young learners.
QUT’s long-standing partnership with regional schools has brought engaging STEM education to hundreds of students over the past decade, reinforcing the importance of equipping the next generation with essential skills and knowledge. “STEMFest offers students a glimpse into the world of STEM, encouraging creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving skills that are invaluable for their futures,” said Sara Sheather of QUT Student Inclusion.
This year’s event concluded with students proudly presenting their projects to their peers, families, and educators, celebrating their hard work and the transformative potential of STEM.
