Engineering Workshops 2024
Workshops developed specifically to complement the engineering curriculum taught in high school.
Student Ambassadors and academics from the Faculty of Engineering have designed and developed new engineering workshops to support the engineering curriculum being taught in high schools.
From understanding Indigenous Australian engineering to understanding logic gates using PCB's and Mindcraft, our workshops offer students and teachers the opportunity to enhance their knowledge of the engineering curriculum.
These workshops can introduce the unit topics, serve as a refresher before assessments, or a fun activity towards the end of the term. These workshops can also be for schools that do not offer engineering as a unit but have students who are interested in engineering as a career pathway.
We are currently offering workshops to support the following units:
- Engineering Fundamentals and Society
- Emerging Technology
- Structures and Environmental Considerations
- Machines and Society
Additional Workshops include:
- CAD workshops (Tinker CAD, Fusion 360, SolidWorks) to support students' skill development using CAD programming.
- Exploring the Future: Robotics and Artificial Intelligence
All workshops are designed for 2 hours and at the moment, are offered here at QUT. To make an excursion a full-day activity, engineering workshops could be combined with a tour and a meet and greet with QUT academics, student clubs and or industry professionals.
If you would like to book an engineering workshop please email Keith Alexander, Student Engagement Coordinator at keith.alexander@qut.edu.au with the following information:
