A full-day engineering experience with QUT and industry for female students.
Supporting and inspiring young women in high school to explore the world of engineering, QUT partners with organisations all over Southeast Queensland to deliver the Power of Engineering. In 2025, we are proud to have continued support from Rio Tinto and partnerships with companies like Downer, Boeing, IntelliDesign, Power Link, BESIX Watpac, Energy Queensland and many others.
We originally offered this opportunity to years 7-9 to align with the critical decision-making time frame while in high school and to empower young women to consider the various career pathways connected to engineering. We now offer it for female students in years 7-12.
Depending on the location of your school, your students will be engaged in either of the following:
- Tour and activity at QUT Gardens point and industry site visit.
- Engineering-related activity delivered at your school and industry site visit.
In 2025, we are offering Power of Engineering once per term to allow more schools to engage in the event. Below, please click on the term you would like to register your students for:
Term 1 - March 17th-21st 2025
Term 2 - June 16th -20th 2025
Term 3 - August 12th - 16th 2025
Term 4 - November 17th - 21st 2025
Power of Engineering Special Activities:
Term 4 December 8th -11th 2025* - This week of Power of Engineering will be for years 7-9. The activities on offer this week will be our Facade Engineering workshop in partnership with Urban Climb West End and our Future Cities Lab (Lego City) Workshop at QUT. Spaces will be limited.
