Professional Development for Engineering Teachers
Opportunities for training and networking for engineering teachers
Engineering teachers play a vital role in shaping the next generation of problem-solvers, often navigating the challenges of delivering a complex and ever-evolving curriculum. At QUT, we recognise the dedication it takes to inspire students while keeping pace with technological advancements and curriculum demands. To support your efforts, we invite you to participate in our professional development programs, designed to equip you with innovative strategies, resources, and connections to excel in your teaching journey.
Working with QCAA, the Faculty of Engineering, will provide the following resources and opportunities for engineering teachers in the following four areas:
- Curriculum Support
- Community & Industry Engagement
- Integration of Technology
- Professional Development Program
With consideration of the above, QUT's Faculty of Engineering will provide the following support in 2025 (with more to add):
- A repository of resources including "lesson bites," quick and sharp explanations of engineering material for teachers and students to understand content.
- Professional Development Training (Curriculum Focused):
- April 16th Engineering Fundamentals & Emerging Technologies (Units 1 & 2)
- April 17th - Civil Structures & Machines & Mechanisms (Units 3 & 4)
- September 5th Evening with an Engineer - 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm, QUT Gardens Point Campus, OJW
Access to registering for PDs and resources will be sent out by QCAA in 2025. If you have any questions regarding QUT's professional development program for engineering teachers or would like to contribute to the program, please contact Keith Alexander, Student Engagement Coordinator, Faculty of Engineering.
