Join host Nicola as she interviews Callan Alexander, a threatened species project officer at Birdlife Australia and a PhD candidate and research assistant at QUT. Callan has a background in music and with an interest in sound and birdwatching; ecoacoustic is the key focus of his research. In this episode find out more about how AI and technology could potentially save species using ecoacoustics.
Ep 8: Can too much rubble hurt the Great Barrier Reef?
Join host Nicola as she dives deep into coral rubble and the health maintenance of the Great Barrier Reef with Catherine Kim, researcher and lecturer from the School of Earth and Atmospheric Science at QUT. Catherine’s PhD research focus on coral reef ecology of Timor-Leste and the marine systems and conservations in the wider Indo-Pacific. In this episode, Nicola explores the question 'Can too much rubble hurt the great barrier reef?
