Cancellation and refund policy

Payment may be refunded if we encounter any uncontrolled circumstances.

Notice of cancellation must be submitted in writing to amsca2024@qut.edu.au.

  • 0% cancellation fee will apply for cancellations received prior to 20 July 2024.
  • 25% cancellation fee will apply for cancellations received prior to 25 July 2024.
  • 50% cancellation fee will apply for cancellations received prior to 30 July 2024.
  • Cancellations received on or after 30 July 2024 will not be refunded.

Summary

Our conference is dedicated to providing a harassment-free conference experience for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, religion (or lack thereof), or technology choices. We do not tolerate harassment of conference participants in any form. Sexual language and imagery is not appropriate for any conference venue, including talks, workshops, parties, X (formerly Twitter) and other online media. Conference participants violating these rules may be sanctioned or expelled from the conference without a refund at the discretion of the conference organisers.

Specifics

  • Harassment includes:
    • offensive verbal comments related to gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, religion, technology choices
    • sexual images in public spaces
    • deliberate intimidation
    • stalking, following
    • harassing photography or recording
    • sustained disruption of talks or other events
    • inappropriate physical contact
    • unwelcome sexual attention.
  • Participants asked to stop any harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately.
  • Sponsors are also subject to the anti-harassment policy.
  • If a participant engages in harassing behavior, the conference organisers will take any action they deem appropriate, including expulsion from the conference with no refund.
  • If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns,  contact one of the conference organisers immediately.

We expect participants to follow these rules at all conference venues and conference-related social events.

Conference gender equity aims

The conference organisers will strive to ensure that at least 30% of the speakers featured at the conference (through invited/keynote/plenary presentations) are women or gender non-conforming.

According to Australia's universal visa system, all individuals planning to visit or enter Australia must possess a valid visa.
