Biography
Dr Adem Sav is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Public Health and Social Work, Faculty of Health, Queensland University of Technology. In addition to an undergraduate degree in Behavioural Sciences, focusing on Psychology and Work and Health and Safety, Adem has completed the degree of Bachelor of Behavioural Science with First Class Honours in Work and Public Health. Adem was then awarded a Doctor of Philosophy in Public Health from Griffith University in 2011. His PhD project examined psycho-social issues in the workplace and he was able to obtain very positive feedback from an independent examiner for his engaging and constructive research. Adem has also completed a Graduate Certificate in Research Management with Southern Cross University. Adem is currently the Discipline Lead for Health Safety and Environment programs within the School of Public Health and Social Work at Queensland University of Technology. He is a recognised leader in the area of policy and systems approaches to health, particularly focusing on a setting approach i.e., workplace. He has a special interest in psycho-social factors (e.g. occupational stress, work-family balance, job satisfaction/security, shift work, workplace safety, and occupational health) at work and the system/policies needed to make the workplace a healthier setting for key populations. He has also published widely, in the areas of chronic disease, burden of treatment, health service delivery, community pharmacy, and health promotion. In recent years, his work has increasingly focused on health service delivery and patient-centred care for people with chronic health conditions. Adem is also competent in the use of both quantitative and qualitative research methods and various analysis techniques.View location details(QUT staff and student access only)
