Alex has extensive experience in material failure investigations, asset integrity and remaining life assessments of high temperature and high pressure components, corrosion, heat treatment of metals, project management, expert witnessing, mechanical and non-destructive testing. Alex gained this experience across most industry sectors including automotive, manufacturing, mining, building, oil&gas, petrochemical and power production while working for ALS Industrial as a Principal Consultant and BTR Engineering as a Plant Metallurgist.
Presently at CARF, Alex is focused on metallurgical assessments of aluminium products for Rio-Tinto Aluminium and their clients.
Alex has graduated from National University of Science and Technology "MISIS" (Moscow Institute of Steel and Alloys) in 1987 where he studied Metal Science and Thermal Treatment of Metals.
Alex began his career as heat treatment technologist at “Irgydromash” and continued as a Metallurgical Engineer at “Research and Production Amalgamation TECHNOLOG” in Tashkent, Uzbekistan working on design, testing and commissioning of automated machine tools for induction hardening.
In 1993 Alex immigrated to Australia and worked as a Metallurgist/Energy Manager for BTR Automotive in Albury where he was responsible for production and laboratory activities to achieve manufacturing schedules for automatic and manual transmissions. In year 2000 Alex has graduated from the Herriot-Watt University (Edinburgh) with MBA degree. From 2006 to 2017 Alex worked at ALS Industrial (Brisbane) as a Principal Consultant.
