Biography
Aparna Datey is a Lecturer, Educator Development and Recognition in QUT Academic of Learning and Teaching since July 2024. Before that she was a sessional academic at QUT, UQ and Griffith since July 2016. She has wide ranging experience in teaching design, student advising (UWM, USA) and academic development in higher education contexts in Australia. She has a PhD in architectural design pedagogy and practice from the University of Queensland, master's degree in architecture from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge (USA), and bachelor's degree from CEPT University (India).Personal details

Teaching
Aparna Datey in the QUT Academy of Learning and Teaching. She has over 20 years’ experience in teaching design studios, history, and research methods courses in architecture, interior design, and landscape architecture at QUT. Her research focuses on teaching practices, identity, and supporting professional development of sessional academics. Aparna is interested in academic development and contributing towards improvement of educational outcomes, enhancing the student experience, and inclusive practices. She is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
