Biography
Dr. Bhargavi Goswami is a distinguished researcher and educator with over a decade of experience in both research and teaching at the university level. Currently an academic in the School of Computer Science at Queensland University of Technology (QUT), she is widely recognized for her impactful contributions to communication networks, network security, and emerging technologies.Her prolific academic career is highlighted by numerous accomplishments, including two patents, multiple authored monographs, and leadership in multiple funded research projects. Dr. Goswami’s extensive research portfolio boasts over 50 journal and conference publications, accumulating more than 600 citations. Her areas of expertise span a diverse range of critical domains, such as Smart Grid Communication Networks, Software Defined Networks (SDN), Cryptography, Cybersecurity, Mathematical Modeling, and Congestion Control in Data Networks.
Dr. Goswami earned her second Ph.D. from QUT, where she focused on pioneering communication frameworks for Smart Grids. She was also instrumental in the RCP Project at Stanford University, contributing to transformative advances in internet speed through innovative congestion mitigation techniques. Her technical knowledge is further enhanced by her international professional certifications, including CCNA and CCNP from CISCO, reinforcing her depth in networks and communication systems.
Driven by a passion for innovation, Dr. Goswami is currently engaged in exploring the intersection of Quantum Computing, Machine Learning, and Network Programming, with a particular focus on enhancing security and efficiency in modern communication systems. Dr. Bhargavi Goswami has over 14 years of teaching experience in higher education, specializing in computer networks, network security, and software-defined networks. Currently, she teaches postgraduate units at Queensland University of Technology (QUT) in Brisbane, Australia, where she integrates cutting-edge research into her teaching practice to provide students with real-world applications of emerging technologies.
Before joining QUT, Dr. Goswami held academic positions at CHRIST University and Garden City College in Bangalore, India, where she was recognized for her expertise as both an Assistant Professor and Head of the Department (HOD). At these institutions, she led courses on advanced network systems and security, motivating and guiding students through hands-on learning and fostering a collaborative learning environment. Her teaching approach is characterized by an emphasis on critical thinking, problem-solving, and the application of theoretical knowledge in practical scenarios.
