Biography
Brett Fyfield is a Lecturer, Researcher, and Study Area Coordinator at the Queensland University of Technology (QUT), specialising in visual communication, interaction design, and the integration of technology in design education. His research focuses on the use of innovative tools such as generative AI, Augmented Reality and Hybrid Learning Spaces to enhance design process and pedagogy. He has contributed to the development of strategies for technology-enhanced learning, particularly in higher education contexts. His recent work examines the intersection of human-computer interaction and design thinking, exploring how AI-driven methodologies can empower designers and students. Through interdisciplinary collaborations with industry partners and professional bodies, Brett actively works to bridge the gap between academic research and practical application in the broader design industry. Brett’s research has been published in several high-impact conferences, where his insights into curriculum transformation and design pedagogy have shaped teaching practices at QUT and beyond.
