Biography
Bronwyn McCredie is an associate professor and the teaching and learning lead in the School of Accountancy at the QUT Business School. She holds a PhD in Finance and the University medal from the University of Newcastle, and a Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice from Queensland University of Technology. She is also a Chartered Accountant (CA), a Certified Practising Accountant (CPA), a fellow of the Higher Education Academy (HEA), an affiliate of the Financial Advice Association of Australia (FAAA), a vice president of the Australasian Tax Teachers Association (ATTA); the chair of the Tax Special Interest Group for the Accounting and Finance Association of Australia and New Zealand (AFAANZ); and a member of the Finance Research Network (FIRN). Dr McCredie researches in financial law, taxation and regulation which has been published in Australian and international journals and edited books. Her current research focuses on identifying and measuring tax aggressive behaviour, the OECD and UN tax program and resultant tax transparency legislation, and the efficacy of director trading and human slavery legislation.Expertise related to UN Sustainable Development Goals

Teaching
Dr McCredie has coordinated, lectured and tutored a large range of courses, at various levels (undergraduate and postgraduate), using different delivery methods (face-to-face and online) including: Taxation Law and Practice (current); Company Accounting; Financial Accounting; Cost and Management Accounting; Strategic Management Accounting; Foundations of Business Analysis; Finance; International Finance; Corporate Finance; Business Finance; Financial Institutions Management; and Investments. Dr McCredie is a fellow of the Higher Education Academy (HEA) and has received a teaching award from the Faculty of Business and Law at the University of Newcastle in 2015 for ‘Excellence in Teaching by a Sessional Staff Member’. She is also the founder of the QUT Accounting Challenge which is tasked with reimagining student perceptions of the accounting profession.
Experience
Dr McCredie co-ordinated the ATO Tax Help Centre at QUT. This centre assisted members of the public with completing their annual tax returns in partnership with the Australian Tax Office.
