Biography
My research centers around why volcanoes erupt and what the impacts of these eruptions are. Some particular areas of focus for my research are:- persistently active volcanoes and lava lakes;
- explosive caldera-forming eruptions at mafic volcanoes;
- tephrochronology;
- the role of volcanism in mass extinctions;
- geology and volcanology in the south-west Pacific.
