Dr Danielle Bozin

Biography

Dr Danielle Bozin is a Senior Lecturer and Researcher within the School of Law at QUT. Danielle’s research is primarily concerned with examining the law’s effect on the mental and emotional health of those navigating the legal system. She is interested in exploring ways to lessen the impact of the anti-therapeutic outcomes produced by the law and legal processes using alternative dispute resolution mechanisms. Danielle’s principal research interests and publications have been in the field of international family law, with a particular emphasis on gender, child rights and transnational families. She has focused on examining the phenomenon of international parental child abduction and the unintended consequences flowing from the operation of the Hague Convention on Civil Aspects of International Parental Child Abduction. Danielle is currently researching issues related to non-verbal behaviour and communication in both courtroom and alternative dispute resolution settings through the lens of therapeutic jurisprudence.

Danielle is a registered Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner and Nationally Accredited Mediator who is passionate about resolving conflict and working with clients to achieve long-term solutions. Her sensitive and calm approach supports clients to work through challenging situations with dignity, whilst empowering them to engage in interest-based negotiations with a focus on achieving creative agreements based on understanding and respect.
