Dr Guilherme Froes Silva

Faculty of Engineering,
School of Electrical Engineering & Robotics
Biography
Guilherme received his degree in Control and Automation Engineering in 2015 and his MPhil in 2017, both from PUCRS, Brazil. His PhD was awarded by The Queensland University of Technology (QUT), Australia, in 2023. He is a Lecturer in the School of Electrical Engineering and Robotics at QUT and an Associate Investigator at the QUT Centre for Robotics, working with aviation risk analysis and control of scalable networked systems.Dr. Froes Silva is an accomplished early career researcher with a strong focus on the scalability and stability of networked autonomous systems, including string stable vehicle platoons and inverter-based microgrids. He is also an expert in quantitative risk analysis, having conducted industry collaboration and commercial projects that gained international recognition, being used by uncrewed aircraft operators and regulatory authorities. With a strong publication record and successful industry collaborations, including a patent application resulting from work with Boeing Defence Australia, Guilherme is well-positioned to contribute to increasing the safety of various intelligent transportation systems.
