Biography
Prof Jed Duff is Chair of Nursing at Royal Brisbane and Woman's Hospital where he develops, tests, and implements strategies to improve the uptake of evidence into practice; designs and runs multidisciplinary practice-based research; and mentors staff in evidence-based practice, quality improvement, and research. Jed describes himself as a 'pracademic' – someone who helps solve real-world problems by combining the views of practitioners and academics. The focus of Jed's research is improving patient outcomes through multidisciplinary practice-based research with a particular emphasis on implementation science. He is skilled at both implementing evidence using pragmatic models and studying the implementation using mixed-method approaches. From 2014-2016, Jed was an NHMRC Translating Research into Practice Fellow, and in 2019 he received a prestigious Fulbright Scholarship to conduct implementation research in the USA. Jed is currently a facilitator for the Training Institute for Dissemination and Implementation Research in Health (TIDIRH).
