Biography
Dr Kirstin Ferguson is one of Australia's most prominent leadership experts and is also making an impact on the global stage. She was named by Thinkers50 as one of the world's top 30 "Thinkers to Watch" and was shortlisted for the Thinkers50 Distinguished Award for Leadership.Kirstin has a PhD in leadership and culture from QUT Business School and a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) from QUT Law School. Kirstin was named QUT Business School Alumnus of the Year in 2020 and is a former Colin Brain Fellow and Sir Winston Churchill Fellow.
Kirstin is a columnist and author and writes widely in the field of leadership including in Forbes, Australian Financial Review, The Sydney Morning Herald and The Age. Kirstin is the co-author of the award-winning book, Women Kind, which was published in 2018. Kirstin’s next book, Head & Heart: The Art of Modern Leadership will be published by Penguin Random House in 2023.
Kirstin is an award-winning and globally recognised leader. Kirstin's thirty year career includes over a decade of experience on a range of company boards, including being appointed by the Australian Prime Minister in 2018 as Acting Chair and Deputy Chair of the Australian Broadcasting Corporation. Kirstin has been the CEO of a global consulting company, a senior executive at a leading corporate law firm, and spent nearly ten years as an Officer in the Royal Australian Air Force.
In 2017, Kirstin was responsible for sparking a viral social media campaign called #CelebratingWomen which was nominated for an Our Watch/Walkley Award and led to numerous spin off campaigns around the world.
