Biography
Extensive experience in senior executive positions in the Queensland Public Service and interstate and overseas over more than 4 decades. Held Chief Executive positions including Department of the Premier and Cabinet, Coordinator General, Infrastructure, Arts, Education, Family Services, and Housing Planning and Local Government.Chaired many state and national boards and committees in a range of public policy fields. Also chaired and served as a board member major Not for Profits and private companies in Australia and the UK.
Served as Queensland Agent General and Trade Commissioner for Europe and Sub Sahara Africa based in London and as Dean and CEO of the Australia and New Zealand School of Government (ANZSOG).
Held Adjunct Professorial positions at Universities of Melbourne, Queensland, and Sydney.
Awarded an AO (Order of Australia in the Queen's Birthday Honours list in 2021 for distinguished service to public administration and public service leadership)
Commenced working at QUT part time in September 2023 as a Professor of Practice and focusses on the public sector and civil society's contribution to public value and enhancing public interest.
