Ms Kiri Pettigrew

Biography

Ms Kiri Pettigrew is the General Counsel at QUT and leads the Office of the General Counsel which comprises the Legal and Assurance and Audit Departments of the University.

With over 25 years of regional and international legal experience, Kiri has worked in the financial services industry and in private practice in the area of global corporate disputes. Prior to joining QUT, Kiri worked in the international commercial dispute team of a global law firm. She also held the position of Managing Director and Head of Legal and Compliance – Asia Pacific within a leading US publicly listed financial services firm.

Kiri possesses extensive experience liaising with government regulators in multiple jurisdictions and managing a legal, compliance and risk team across Asia Pacific. She has key knowledge regarding developing frameworks, effective policies and procedures in line with statutory and regulatory requirements to meet organisational needs. In addition, she has international and local experience in advising on implementing business strategies that are effective within legal and regulatory frameworks. Kiri has expertise in providing litigation, regulatory investigation management, internal investigation management and resolution advice to global clients.

Kiri holds a Bachelor of Arts (UQ) and a Bachelor of Laws (QUT). Kiri has served as a Director on the Board of a professional body in the financial services industry and is a Non-Executive Director of QInsure.
