Biography
BioMarissa Lindquist is an award winning Architect, Senior Lecturer and QUT Design Lab Regional and Resilient Program Leader at Queensland University of Technology. Marissa is Chief Investigator of Cat 1 $1.5M NHMRC Grant 2020-2025: An Inter-generational Learning and Living Campus: A New Model for Healthy Senior Living and Integrated School Communities across Urban and Regional Australia. Marissa holds a PhD (Architecture) in the area of neuro-imaging (fNIRS), architectural spatial experience and emotion.
In 2008 she was awarded the National Dulux Study Tour for emerging architects in Australia. She formed part of the editorial team for the international IDEA Symposium [2010] entitled Interior Spaces in Other Places Brisbane, Australia, and is recognized for her creative practice through publication within the 2012 Venice Biennale Australian Pavilion. In 2017 Marissa was awarded a Women in Research Grant QUT. In 2018 she was appointed as Fellow of the Australian Institute of Architects. She is co-editor of Staging Fashion 2021 (Bloomsbury), and co-curator of Banquet 2022 at Tin Sheds exploring the relations between food consumption, architecture and the human condition. Her teaching practice dwells on the margins of interiority, perception and material making.
