Biography
Dr Ogan Yigitbasioglu is Senior Lecturer at the School of Accountancy. He joined QUT from Hanken School of Economics in Finland where he worked as Assistant Professor. Dr Yigitbasioglu’s research lies at the intersection of accounting and information systems. Experienced in quantitative and qualitative methods, he undertakes research focussing on digitilization in accounting including the adoption, use, and impact of various technologies on organizations. These include, among others, cloud accounting, big data analytics and blockchain. His articles appeared in journals such as the International Journal of Accounting Information Systems, British Accounting Review, Accounting, Auditing & Accountability Journal, Financial Accountability & Management, Accounting Forum, Technological Forecasting and Social Change and International Journal of Physical Distribution and Logistics Management.His research has attracted grants totalling over $90,000 in Australia (including CAANZ and AFAANZ), US (IMA) and Finland from both the public and private sector.
Dr Yigitbasioglu has supervised more than 20 PhD/MPhil theses to completion. He is keen to supervise students with a background in commerce and an interest in emerging technologies like Artificial Intelligence and blockchain.
He holds a PhD and MSc in Accounting Information Systems from Hanken School of Economics. He has certificates from Aalto University (Network Technologies), QUT (Graduate Certificate in Academic Practice) and London School of Economics (Machine Learning). He is a member of the European Accounting Association and Accounting & Finance Association of Australia and New Zealand.
