Experience

Peter Horrocks is a Senior Lecturer and has many years of experience in paramedicine. He has undertaken various roles at QUT including, Course Coordinator Paramedic Science and Head of Program for Paramedic Science. Peter has over 30 years’ practice as a Critical Care Paramedic, Special Operations Paramedic, Flight Paramedic, Senior Ambulance Educator, and also as a Registered Nurse. Peter has extensive experience educating students in paramedic practice across a range of programs. These include Tertiary, RTO Diploma and private programs. In addition to paramedic students, Peter has designed and delivered advanced skills programs for special operations police officers and significantly was for over 10 years a Medical Educator for the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners delivering their Clinical Emergency Management Program which was designed to train GP’s in paramedic skills and practice.
