- From 2009 to 2014 for six years, Pamela was a visiting professor serving as the External Examiner for students completing the Bachelor of Medical Imaging Science initially at the University of the South Pacific Suva Campus, and later this became part of the Fiji National University.

- Pamela Rowntree was appointed to the inaugural Medical Radiation Technologists Registration Board by the Qld Govt initially in 2002 as Deputy Chair of the Board and served 2 terms in that role 2002 to 2010. In 2010 she was reappointed as a Board member and held the position until mid 2012 when national registration came into being under AHPRA. Pamela chaired the Awards and Grants sub-committee of the Qld Board, and also served on the Registration subcommittee reviewing overseas qualifications for ten years.

- In September 2010, Pamela Rowntree was the Convenor and Chair for the International Society of Radiographers and Radiological Technologists World Congress, held at the Gold Coast Convention Centre. This was the first time this event had been held in Australia, and over 50 counties attended with over 1200 registrants.

- In 2007 Pamela Rowntree was appointed as a QUT Teaching Fellow for a two year period to investigate peer review of teaching and developing peer partnerships. A group of Teaching Fellows formed a community of practice to develop a toolbox of resources. This led Pamela to develop peer review processes with staff across the Medical Imaging teaching team. Pamela was also part of a cross institutional ALTC Project entitled Embedding peer review of teaching and learning in e-learning and blended learning environments during this time.
