Experience
Dr Fawzia’s research and scholarship are strategically focused around three important research areas:
- Carbon fibre reinforce polymer strengthening
- Innovative material for structural engineering application
- Structural health monitoring
- Microstructural modelling.
Her performance in these areas are demonstrated by the quality and citations of her publications, the awards and grants she has received, the number of invitations that she received to review articles for different high-calibre journals. She has also received several invitations from external universities to act as an examiner of higher degree research (HDR) student theses. In the process of achieving this level of excellence, gaining substantial national and international recognition, and becoming a world known in these areas, she has actively engaged in strategic partnerships at both national and international levels with various research organisations and teams, and has been in close liaison with industry. She is regularly publishing in high impact journals and she has participated in and secured research funding from Australian research center.
Academic reviewer: Dr Fawzia is an Australian Research Council (ARC) Grants Reviewer, and also reviewer of several key Q1 academic journals, including:
- Composite Structures
- Engineering Structures
- Materials and Structures
- Construction and Building Materials
- Journal of Composites for Construction.
