Biography
Broad area of research: Atmospheric Sciences; Atmospheric Aerosol Science; Air Quality and the Environment; Climate ChangeResearch group: Prof. Ristovski is leading a large research group, including 2 academics, 3 Postdoctoral Fellows and over 10 Postgraduate students.
Main research areas:
- Nanoparticle emission from internal combustion engines.
- Developing new methodologies to improve our understanding of the health effects of airborne nanoparticles.
- Developing new tools to improve our understanding of the climate effects of airborne nanoparticles.
Developing new methodologies to improve our understanding of the health effects of airborne nanoparticles: The main focus of this research area is in the development and application of new methods for the measurment of the oxidative capacity of nanoparticles and is centered arround the application of new Profluorescent Nitroxide (PFN) chemical probes. A real time Reactive Oxygen Species (ROS) monitor is beeing developed. This research is done in collaboration with Prof. Steven Bottle's group.
