Incoming Executive Dean of the QUT Faculty of Law, Professor Dan Hunter, gave the keynote address at the annual QUT Law Society (QUTLS) law dinner.
The event celebrated the achievements of students and the society throughout 2019.
QUTLS is the peak representative body for all law students at QUT. Representing more than 3,000 students across undergraduate and postgraduate studies, QUTLS is the largest faculty society in Australia.
“It was a night of reflection on the year, a celebration of the achievements made so far and excitement for the future of the faculty. Professor Hunter reminded us to build on our specialties and niches so that we can stand out better in the legal sector. He also took the opportunity to get to know students one-on-one and discuss their vision for the QUT Law School and QUTLS,” said Taylor Thomas, QUTLS Social Media Officer.
At the event, QUTLS also announced the results of their recent Annual General Meeting and the election. The 2020 Executive will take further steps to ensure that members’ interests are reflected in its offerings for next year. The Faculty of Law have worked closely with the QUTLS in 2019 and aim to continue this great relationship in 2020.
The Faculty would like to warmly welcome the newly elected 2020 committee and thank the 2019 QUTLS committee for their continued service and dedication throughout the year.
