MIT Immersion Program
In an Australian-first initiative, MIT Sloan School of Management and QUT Business School are collaborating, with a focus on an innovative immersion program for QUT MBA students.
For two weeks, selected QUT students immerse themselves in the MIT ecosystem, where they are taught by leading global academics.
The immersion program focuses on leadership, entrepreneurship and digital transformation. This will equip you with the digital leadership skills to innovate and problem-solve with emerging technologies.
Upon completion of MIT Sloan’s curriculum and QUT’s graduation requirements, participating students are included in the MIT Sloan Affiliate Network.
All MBA students and Executive MBA students in the International Leadership stream can apply for this immersion program.
In 2023, a group of Executive MBA and MBA students participated in this exclusive study tour.
Complex Program Leadership and Strategic Procurement study tour
Exclusively for our Executive MBA students, this study tour features a bespoke engagement with some of the world’s biggest and most complicated projects.
You’ll learn how global organisations such as Airbus and Pilatus manage large and difficult projects within and across complex environments.
These perspectives aren’t just limited to engineering or technical functions, but also embrace the social, cultural, and political dimensions that inform practices, relationships and expectations across international supply chains.
In 2023, our students visited four leading organisations across Europe.
Global learning experience
Study with some of the most prestigious global business schools with QUT's short-term international exchange program.
QUT MBA students have participated in exchange opportunities through Copenhagen Business School and WHU Otto Beisheim School of Management, amongst others.
WHU Otto Beisheim School of Management two week intensive
As part of our MBA, students can travel to QUT's partner school, the WHU Otto Beisheim School of Management in Germany, to complete their MBA European Summer Program.
The two-week course is designed for MBA students interested in international business, finance, and corporate strategy. It offers a targeted and compact insight into international business in Europe with a well-balanced combination of lectures, group work, company visits and cultural experiences.
The program brings students together from around the world, providing the opportunity to develop a network that spans continents.
'WHU Otto Beisheim School of Management's MBA European Summer Program was fantastic. The company visits, diverse cohort and course content will definitely benefit my career. Everyone can get something out of it. It didn’t matter how old you were or what your background was, everyone loved it.'
Hear from our students
'The best experiences and opportunities within the MBA program have been in the international and interstate studies, as well as the mentorship programs.
'I had an opportunity to study in Germany and through a Victorian university to broaden my elective studies and learnings. The personal and professional growth through extending myself in different environments, countries, languages and experiences added significant value to my MBA journey. Plus, it secured lifelong friendships and increased my appetite for more travel.
'The mentor program aligned experienced, dedicated and interested professionals with your personal journey. It's great to have that additional support and alternative view on the journey.'

'The MIT Immersion program during my Executive MBA was a pivotal opportunity to learn more about the entrepreneurial mindset and how to apply this in my workplace.
'My Executive MBA has provided me with significant opportunities to grow professionally and to challenge myself during the program. The international connection with MIT Sloan School of Management has grown my entrepreneurial mindset, access to an executive advisor has provided valuable coaching, and networking opportunities across a credible alumni network has expanded my professional contacts.'

'When I think of the Executive MBA's international study tour I remember a picture of one night in particular whilst we were preparing for a red team review the following day at Dallas Fort Worth.
'Everyone was crowded around a table in a corner of the hotel we were accommodated. We were all absorbed in the moment and completely focused on brainstorming as to how best we could solve the complex problem at hand. This captured the nature of the tour and what I would take into my workplace, collaboration, critical learning, shared goals and camaraderie.'
