QUT Business School is celebrating its position as a top Australian business educator following release today of the latest Australian Financial Review BOSS MBA survey rankings.
QUT’s Executive MBA ranked second nationally, a consistent top position in the AFR rankings it has taken pride in for the past decade in both Brisbane and Canberra.
With the QUT MBA ranking third nationally, QUT is the top ranked university in Queensland for postgraduate business education.
Executive Director, Graduate School of Business and QUTeX, Bob O’Connor, said that this ranking solidifies QUT Business School’s position as a leading quality provider of education for business leaders.
“We are pleased to offer a quality education service for executives, managers and those intent on bettering themselves in their careers,” Mr O’Connor (pictured below) said.
“We do take pride in the fact that we offer a quality program to prepare today and tomorrow’s business leaders for the challenges posed by an increasingly globalised and digitised world by drawing on the knowledge of experts and taking a multidisciplinary approach to problem solving.
“Effective leadership coaching and understanding the crucial value of teamwork are also hallmarks of our programs,” he said.
The program culminates in an international study tour to China and Europe with participants assigned leadership coaches to focus efforts on achieving life and career goals.
With the BOSS biennial rankings determined on extensive surveys of former students Mr O’Connor thanked busy alumni for their recognition.
“Honestly, knowing that we have made a difference to the careers of so many of our students both in terms of professional achievement and remuneration is reward enough.
“The high rankings are the icing on the cake,” Mr O’Connor said.
With gender equity being high on QUT’s corporate agenda, Mr O’Connor said the Graduate School of Business, whose programs already attract one of the highest ratios of female candidates, was offering a new scholarship worth $70,000 for women to undertake the key business programs.
Supported by the United Nations National Committee Australia to encourage diversity and promote gender equality, the scholarship will be awarded to an aspiring female leader who has demonstrated academic, personal and business acumen.
The full scholarship advances skills in organisational change, entrepreneurship, governance and corporate accountability.
“In a very tangible way QUT can support women seeking to establish themselves in a leadership role, and accelerate progress towards gender equity in the workplace,” he said.
Executive Director of the UN Women National Committee Australia Janelle Weissman said the scholarship provided an invaluable opportunity for women to advance their careers and make a positive impact in their communities.
“We are delighted to work in partnership with QUT Business School to support more women in leadership,” Ms Weissman said.
