QUT has retained its position as the top university in Australia for communications and media studies, now ranking 15th in the world for that subject area.
The latest QS Rankings have named QUT as one of the world’s top universities to study 28 subjects.
QUT ranked in the global top 50 for three subjects – communication and media studies, nursing, and mineral and mining engineering – and in the top 100 for seven subjects.
The QS World University subject rankings compare 15,200 individual university programs from 1543 universities around the world, grouping 51 subjects into five broad subject areas.
In 2022, QUT increased its rank in four of the five broad subject areas: engineering and technology, social sciences and management, life sciences and medicine, and natural sciences.
In the global subject ranking, mineral and mining engineering at QUT entered the top 50, scoring strongly in its reputation with employers.
QUT Vice-Chancellor Professor Margaret Sheil said the rankings were a testament to QUT’s dedicated staff.
“These rankings reflect a sustained effort by QUT staff, who are producing real-world research outcomes and equipping students with the skills they need to excel in the workforce,” Professor Sheil said.
