Exit Netflix, put down the tablet, and make 2017 the year you throw it back to live theatre. No buffering, no skipping forward, and no binge-watching. Instead, we invite you to watch as the story unfolds live on stage. With pinpoint timing carefully crafted to each audience, nothing compares to live theatre—being close enough to experience the raw emotion, energy, and seasoned talent of Australia's finest stage actors.
Gardens Theatre, at Gardens Point campus, proudly presents another season of high-quality Australian theatre featuring well-known stars of the stage like John Wood (Bakersfield Mist), alongside brand new faces including QUT alumnus and Brisbane’s own Chenoa Deemal (The 7 Stages of Grieving).
The 2017 professional season features six diverse shows, from a period drama (Thérèse Raquin) to uplifting comedies (Shirley Valentine and Glorious!). Gardens Theatre again welcomes young audiences in 2017 with several children’s shows from producer CDP. Gardens Theatre continues to support the stars of tomorrow, as QUT acting and dance students hone their performance skills in QUT Showcase productions throughout the year.
