The Carumba Institute believes Indigenous knowledges provide unlimited opportunities for solving real world problems.
Faculty of Indigenous Knowledges and Culture
In an Australian first, QUT will establish the Faculty of Indigenous Knowledges and Culture as a connection point for community, scholars and students. The faculty will offer education and research programs for all QUT students and partner organisations, in an environment where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander excellence is supported and celebrated.
The Faculty of Indigenous Knowledges and Culture will launch in 2024 and start taking students in 2025.

International Journal of Critical Indigenous Studies
The International Journal of Critical Indigenous Studies disseminates scholarship across the Humanities, Social Sciences, Health Sciences, Law and Education in the field of Indigenous Studies. Indigenous scholars from around the world share common experiences of colonisation. Our collective politics have been shaped by our intellectual traditions which inform our work within the academy.
Please note, the International Journal of Critical Indigenous Studies is no longer accepting submissions. We are very pleased to let you know that all published publications and issues are still available to view and download. The Carumba Institute at QUT is, regrettably, unable to continue to support the Journal and the final issue was published in 2022. Thank you to all involved for your contributions and service since the Journal’s inception in 2008.
For all queries related to the Journal, please contact the Office for Scholarly Communications, QUT Library.
