Esports Performance Optimisation Wellbeing Research

Dedicated to enhancing the sustainability and growth of the esports ecosystem through pioneering research in athlete wellbeing and performance. As Australian leaders in esports health research, we bring together a multidisciplinary team of academics, research students, industry professionals, and international collaborators. Our research spans key areas of performance, including psychological interventions to optimize focus and resilience, physical activity and exercise strategies to support gameplay endurance, and studies on cognition to enhance decision-making and reaction times. In optimisation, we investigate the effects of caffeine, the role of exercise in boosting gameplay performance, and innovative approaches to support mental health for esports athletes. Our focus on wellbeing includes groundbreaking research on women's health and the menstrual cycle in esports, the impact of nutrition on sustained performance, and the integration of physical activity for overall health and career longevity in competitive gaming. Together, we are shaping the future of esports performance and athlete care.
