What is the purpose of this research?
The purpose of this research is to understand how consumers perceive and respond to Generative AI-powered therapy services.
Are you looking for people like me?
You are invited to participate if you are over 18 years old.
What will you ask me to do?
Your participation will involve an interview in person at QUT or any other location, or online through Zoom or Teams. The interview will be audio-recorded for transcription purpose. It will take approximately 30-40 minutes of your time.
Are there any risks for me in taking part?
There is a low possibility that you might feel minor discomfort in expressing yourself during the interview. You might also feel related when reading the script provided to you and recall unpleasant experiences such as your previous stressful experience when preparing for exams.
You will not be asked to disclose or share any information related to your own mental health status, nor will you be required to compare your personal experiences with human therapists. The focus of this study is on your perceptions of GenAI therapists but not on your personal mental health experience.
If you feel discomfort during the interview, you can choose not to answer certain questions or discontinue your participation at any time. To minimize the potential risks, the script has been read and approved by a clinical psychologist.
Are there any benefits for me in taking part?
No. The outcomes of the research will benefit a wider community including researchers and businesses by offering a better understanding of Generative AI-powered mental healthcare services.
Will I be compensated for my time?
You will be compensated with an AU$25 gift card should you choose to participate in the study.
I am interested - what should I do next?
