What is the purpose of this research?
This research will help to design and identify the best connected and automated vehicles (CAVs) and vulnerable road users (e.g., pedestrians, cyclists, disabled people and older people) interactions that will be accepted by all road users and will maximise safety and justice in the transport system. This research may lead to a greater understanding of whether CAVs would positively influence the experience of VRUs.
