What is the purpose of this research?

The purpose of this project is to explore and discover the effects of following virtual and artificial influencers on your wellbeing.

Are you looking for people like me?

You are over 18 years old and follow at least one virtual influencer.

What will you ask me to do?

Your participation in this study involves either an in-person interview with audio recording or a virtual interview conducted via a videoconferencing platform such as Zoom.

Questions will include:

  • Can you tell me about your experience as a follower of social media virtual or AI influencers?
  • How comfortable do you feel interacting with or following virtual or AI influencers?
  • Have you ever experienced negative emotions, such as low self-esteem or anxiety, related to your interactions with virtual or AI influencers or their content? If so, could you please share your experiences?

Are there any risks for me in taking part?

No.

Will I be compensated for my time?

A $25 Woolworths voucher will be given at the end of the interview
