What is the purpose of this research?
We aim to understand whether the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic including health, stress and loneliness has contributed to the increase in road traffic crashes.
Are you looking for people like me?
If you have held a driving licence since at least 2019 and reside in Australia, we invite you to participate.
What will you ask me to do?
Participation will involve completing a 25-minute online survey.
Are there any risks for me in taking part?
Some risks have been identified. Depending on past experiences with risky driving behaviours, road crashes, COVID-19, health concerns, financial concerns, stressors, loneliness and wellbeing, there is a potential for some participants to experience discomfort when answering some of the questions in the survey. Additionally, some questions relate to the engagement in non-compliant road behaviours, which may cause some participants to feel concerned.
Are there any benefits for me in taking part?
It is expected that this research project will not directly benefit you. The outcomes of the research, however, may benefit our understanding of COVID-19 related impacts on risky driving behaviours, which could inform future research and policy developments.
Will I be compensated for my time?
To recognise your contribution the research team is offering you the chance to win 1 of 10 $50 Woolworths vouchers.
I am interested - what should I do next?
Complete the online survey.
