Overview

This VRES placement explores critical Indigenous Research Methodologies with particular focus on Rigney’s Indigenist Research Methodology. It advances an understanding of Indigenous research methodologies as integral to an anti-racist practice.

Research engagement

  • Research assistant experience in Indigenous Australian led research.
  • Develop an understanding of Critical Indigenous Studies including Indigenist research methodologies.
  • Participate in Carumba Institute weekly reading and writing groups.
  • Participate in Carumba Institute Activities
  • Draft a summary review that examines how race structures current Indigenous research methodologies.
  • Participate in research experience outputs, including a written essay and oral presentations presenting their research findings.
