Overview
Distributed energy resources are growing quickly on the electricity grid, yet the current management architecture for the grid is centralised, potentially creating scalability, security, and privacy challenges. This project will explore the tradeoffs involved in decentralising management of the electricity grid.
Research engagement
Students on this project would be involved literature review, analysis of empirical grid data, and simulation
Research activities
You will work with researchers from computer science, electrical engineering, and will interact with external partners who are sharing real-world context on the problem
Outcomes
The project will generate recommendations on how to best decentralise the grid management decisions
Skills and experience
Python programming, data analysis
