Research engagement
The students will engage with data collation and research dissemination.
Research activities
A prospective student will work with the research team (Dr Cate Challen, Dr Julie Arnold, Aspro Jill Willis) to:
- curate annotated videos of experienced mathematics and English teachers implementing accessible AfL
- develop resources for cross-disciplinary dialogue between preservice and in-service teachers
- synthesise insights from the research on teacher practice and scholarly references to enhance professional learning resources.
Outcomes
The project aims to identify and illuminate discipline-specific accessible Assessment for Learning (AfL) practices in Mathematics and English and promote the value of cross-disciplinary dialogue, to benefit preservice teachers as well as in-service teachers.
Skills and experience
The student will need to be academically capable to read scholarly literature and identify instances of related teacher practice. Ideally, the student will be studying in CIESJ and have an interest in mathematics and/or English.
