Overview

This project is an opportunity to work on a collaborative national project to identify the research priorities in child and adolescent cancer. These research priorities are those identified by young survivors of cancer, their families and the health professionals who care for them.  The research priorities are being collected through surveys and focus groups between August and October 2024.More information is available on the project website:

Research engagement

The student will be involved assisting with organising the data obtained through the surveys and focus groups, reviewing the relevant literature, and  general project management.

Research activities

The student will work with Prof Natalie Bradford and team including PhD students.  They will work in a flexible team environment  on activities to progress the project including cleaning data, searching for evidence in the literature,  and participating in team meetings.

Outcomes

Outcomes from this project may influence the  research agenda for child and adolescent cancer in Australia

Skills and experience

An interest in cancer and cancer-related research is beneficial. No specific prior skills or experience is required, but familiarity with various computer programs such as Endnote, Excel  and NVivo will be beneficial

The student will be provided with QUT computers and resources and mentored by the project team. Student contributions will be acknowledged by inclusion in the dissemination of the project outcomes including on the project website,  and  in peer-reviewed journal article(s)
