Channel 10 have started a new program called Coding@home. Viewers will be able to engage in real-world coding problems and solutions. Featuring tips, skills and advice for creating your own coding project.
On Friday, the show will feature our final year Mechatronics Engineering student and STEM Ambassador, Somayeh Hussaini.
Somayeh will be available after the Coding@home program to answer questions and will be joined by QUT robotics Professor Michael Milford and Boeing Graduate Software Engineer Nicole King. Ask them anything about the coding you saw in the show, what jobs use coding, what industries need coding skills, and what subjects should you study for a career in coding!

Speakers:
QUT robotics Professor Michael Milford is an award-winning young researcher working at the intersection of robotics, neuroscience and computer vision. Professor Milford also founded Maths Thrills, a program that uses popular entertainment, including young adult novels, movies and games, to make mathematics a fun, daily part of everyone’s lives.
QUT Mechatronics Engineering honours student Somayeh Hussaini, began her education at the age of nine in a makeshift ‘underground’ school in Iran. She attended her first day of formal school at the age of 17, after her family were accepted into Australia as refugees. She graduated at the top of her class just a few years later and is now a final year engineering student at QUT. Somayeh is currently completing a software engineering internship at Deswik, a global consulting and technology company.
As a recent grad of QUT’s Information Technology (Computer Science) and Fine Arts degree, Nicole King works for Boeing as a Graduate Software Engineer. Nicole started her career journey at Boeing as a second year student, working on projects ranging from unmanned aerial vehicles at Insitu Pacific to software engineering for government contracts with Boeing Defence Australia.
