Students concerned they may not receive the ATAR required for entry to a QUT Bachelor of Business or Bachelor of Engineering now have an ideal pathway option—a QUT diploma that provides automatic entry to the second year of the relevant degree.
QUT has recently introduced the Diploma in Business and the Diploma in Engineering for domestic students with the first intake in 2021. The diploma programs acts as a pathway into the bachelor degree for students who have not received the required ATAR. The diploma consists of first year units from the respective bachelor degree and takes eight months to complete.
Students successfully completing the diploma are provided with guaranteed entry into the second year of the relevant bachelor degree, allowing them to complete their diploma and degree in the same time as the degree alone.
The diploma is offered through QUT College where students benefit from a supportive learning environment, with smaller classes and more contact hours. The College is owned and operated by QUT, and has been providing pathways into the university for more than 30 years.
Places offered in the Diploma program are Commonwealth supported, and HECS-HELP is available for eligible students.
Students interested in the Bachelor of Business or Bachelor of Engineering but worried about getting the required ATAR are encouraged to include the Diploma in Business or Diploma in Engineering in their QTAC preferences.
Students experiencing financial hardship are encouraged to apply for the Educational Access Scheme. If eligible for an ATAR adjustment under the financial hardship category of the scheme, they are guaranteed an Equity Scholarship valued at $3500.
