We think you’ll be happily surprised by our wide range of scholarships.

Whether you identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander, you're a budding entrepreneur, are facing financial hardship, come from a rural or regional area and/or have outstanding academic, sport and esport, creative or STEM achievements, there may be a scholarship for you. There are even scholarships for specific study areas. For your best chance, make sure you research and apply for all the scholarships you are eligible for.

No application required

Some of our scholarships don’t require an application, you will automatically be considered when you apply to QUT. Make sure you check your eligibility, you may have to apply for specific courses or have it as your first preference on your QTAC application.

Other scholarships for school leavers

Additional scholarships are available for eligible school leavers commencing university study for the first time. These scholarships require you to submit an application. Make sure you check eligibility including opening and closing dates.

Instrumental to my university experience

'I was incredibly fortunate to be awarded a QUT Excellence Scholarship (Academic). This scholarship has been instrumental to my university experience. Through the College of Excellence I have made amazing friends with fellow recipients, giving me a strong sense of community. There have also been many opportunities to get involved in uni life such as running workshops on different topics and volunteering at events. Focus on your studies

'The Tertiary Access Payment I received to help me relocate to Brisbane was an amazing support especially during the first couple of months while I looked for a part-time job. I also received an Equity Scholarship which took the burden off my back for the second half of the year. Prepare a great application

We want you to succeed when you apply, so we’ve put together some handy tips to help your application stand out.

Use professional language

Write your application as if you’re applying for a job.

Avoid slang and abbreviations, and write clearly and concisely when addressing the questions and criteria.

Do your research

Show that you understand that background of the scholarship you're applying for, and how it aligns with your study ambitions.

This will let us know that you're truly interested and that you’re a good match for the scholarship.

Proofread your application

Double check your application for spelling and grammar, and make sure you have all the correct supporting documents.

It’s always good to have someone look over your application before you submit it.

Apply for more than one

We offer lots of scholarships and there’s a good chance you’ll meet the criteria for more than one.

Applying for more than one scholarship can increase your chances of being successful.
