What you'll receive

You'll receive:

  • a study stipend of $300
  • up to two hours editorial assistance from an Allen & Unwin publisher.

Eligibility

To be eligible for this award you must be:

  • enrolled in a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Creative Writing) undergraduate degree
  • either:
    • an Australian or New Zealand Citizen
    • a permanent resident
    • the holder of a permanent humanitarian visa
    • an international student who has completed high school in Australia.

How to apply

You will need to submit:

  • a completed application form
  • a short piece of poetry, fiction or non-fiction writing up to 2,500 words.

What happens next?

A selection committee will assess each application.  Shortlisted applicants only will be contacted and the recipient announced at the Creative Writing Gala event.
