Scholarship details
What you'll receive
The 15 available scholarships include:
- scholarships valued at $7,500 paid over three years for an eligible bachelor degree in the Faculty of Science
- scholarships valued at $10,000 paid over four years for an eligible major in the Bachelor of Science Advanced (Honours)
- automatic membership into QUT's College of Excellence.
Eligibility
You must:
- have completed Year 12 (or a gap year) in 2024
- be starting university for the first time in 2025
- identify as female or non-binary
- be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, or a permanent resident, or hold a permanent humanitarian visa
- have achieved a minimum unadjusted ATAR of 90.0 or above
- have placed QUT as your first preference on your QTAC application at the time of the main December and main January admissions offer rounds
- receive a QUT offer in your first preference
- be applying to start one of the following:
- IN01 Bachelor of Information Technology
- IN05 Bachelor of Games and Interactive Environments
- MS01 Bachelor of Mathematics
- DS01 Bachelor of Data Science
- ST01 Bachelor of Science
- ST20 Bachelor of Science Advanced (Honours) majoring in Chemistry, Physics or Earth Science
- a double degree including one of the above.
How to apply
You do not need to complete a scholarship application for the Faculty of Science Scholarship for Women and Non-Binary People. All eligible students who complete a QTAC application in line with QTAC key dates will be considered based on academic performance and gender.
What happens next?
We'll make scholarship offers from mid-January 2025.
Due to the large number of eligible commencing students we'll only notify the students who are successful in being offered one of the 15 available scholarships.
Conditions
You must:
- be enrolled in an eligible course for the duration of your studies
- achieve a minimum course grade point average (GPA) of 5 each semester.
You can't:
- defer your scholarship offer

About the scholarship
This scholarship aims to support high-achieving female and non-binary students who are starting their first year of an undergraduate degree in science, mathematics or IT. The scholarship also aims to foster leadership and networking by encouraging recipients to contribute to and participate in diversity, inclusion and belonging initiatives of the Faculty of Science and student clubs.
