What you'll receive
You'll receive:
- a scholarship valued at $20,000 paid as a study stipend of $5,000 per semester over the final two years of your undergraduate study.
Eligibility
To be eligible for this scholarship, you must:
- have a GPA (Grade Point Average) 5.5 or higher
- be entering second year of Bachelor of Design (Interior Architecture) or Bachelor of Built Environment (Honours) - Interior Design
- see terms and conditions for further details
- be an Australian or New Zealand citizen or a permanent resident.
How to apply
To apply for this scholarship, you will need to:
- complete the scholarship application form
- attach your supporting documents consisting of:
- your CV
- portfolio and statement of achievements in the interior architecture discipline
- proposal outlining how you will use the scholarship to enhance your interior architecture skills and enable your transition into professional practice
- statement of how you meet the selection criteria, which could include:
- academic merit
- ability to contribute and excel in the field of interior design and become commercially desirable
- commitment and passion to improving the future of interior design
- creativity
- innate style
- project delivery
- commercial awareness
- personal qualities ie. relationship and listening skills, collaboration, integrity, energetic, hands on approach.
In addition, consideration may be given to financial or social disadvantage facing an applicant.
What happens next?
A selection panel will convene to assess and shortlist applications. The panel will consist of:
- head of school or their nominee
- a representative of the professional body or association
- the donor or their nominee.
Shortlisted applicants will be interviewed by the panel.
Conditions
To retain your scholarship, you must maintain a GPA (Grade Point Average) of 5.5 or higher and continue in full-time enrolment.

About the scholarship
The Jane Pitman Interior Architecture Scholarships was established to provide opportunities for exceptionally talented and committed interior architecture students.
The Scholarship is an initiative of Mr Dennis Pitman in memory of his late wife and gifted interior designer, Jane Pitman.
Jane wanted to leave a lasting legacy so that others may enjoy the passion that she had for the design industry. This scholarship, in her name, provides the opportunities for aspiring, creative students to realise their goals and excel in the field of interior architecture, and in life.
