What you'll receive
You'll receive:
- a scholarship of $7,500 for one year, paid in two instalments of $3,750.
This scholarship is offered in Semester 1 each year.
Eligibility
You must be one of the following:
- an Australian citizen (including dual citizens)
- a permanent resident of Australia
- a permanent humanitarian visa holder
- a New Zealand citizen.
You must also be:
- female
- from a low-income background
- experiencing financial hardship
- preferably from a rural or remote background
- enrolled in or applying for an undergraduate course, preferably in natural or physical science, architecture and building, education or creative arts.
This scholarship is not available to:
- single-unit study students - studying an individual unit at QUT, but not enrolled in a QUT course
- cross-institutional students - enrolled in a course at another university, but studying specific units at QUT and receiving credit towards your course at the other university
- QUT College students - studying one of the pathway programs offered by our international college, including foundation courses, university diplomas and English language courses.
How to apply
What happens next?
All applications are assessed against selection criteria. We allocate scholarships based on need. Students with the greatest need will receive the highest value scholarships.
About the scholarship
The Learning Potential Fund provides support through scholarships and bursaries to students in financial need.
Philanthropist Dr Laurie Cowled funds these scholarships with the intention of fostering the education of women, particularly from rural or remote backgrounds, who are studying natural or physical science, architecture or building, education or creative arts.
