What you'll receive
You'll receive:
- a bursary of up to $500 based on your demonstrated need.
Eligibility
You must be one of the following:
- an Australian citizen (including dual citizens)
- a permanent resident of Australia
- a permanent humanitarian visa holder
- a New Zealand citizen.
You must:
- be currently enrolled as a student at QUT
- identify as trans or gender diverse.
Effective Monday, 24 June 2024, the new Births, Deaths and Marriages Registration Act 2023 (Qld) will come into force. To accommodate changes under the new Act, students who have previously received the Legal Name Change Bursary for trans and gender diverse students to change their name on their legal documents in Queensland, are now eligible to apply for a second bursary to alter their sex on legal documents to align with their gender identity.
Who can't apply
- single-unit study student - studying an individual unit at QUT, but not enrolled in a QUT course
- cross-institutional student - enrolled in a course at another university, but studying specific units at QUT and receiving advanced standing towards your course at the other university.
